My Opus One gouger has arrived!
Many thanks to Robin Driscoll for building the machine for me. I'm looking forward to putting it into use, finding how this gouge is different from my old one and how to adapt my reeds, and hopefully making some really great reeds!
This machine is the tool that cuts and smooths the inside part of the reed. It has a subtle yet far-reaching influence on the playing qualities of the reed, and is the most specialized and complicated tool I use (other than my oboe of course)
