English horn B-flat extension

This extension enables playing a low B-flat on English horn. It has a key, and can be operated two different ways. The simple, but slower way of operation is to use the twist lever to open or close the key. This is probably sufficient for most repertoire and will be familiar to those who've used twist ring extensions in the past.

If you must switch between low B and low Bb without stopping playing, remove the twist lever and attach the thumb trigger. The thumb trigger clips to the bottom joint of your instrument with two included clips, and is much faster to operate than other Bb extensions. It's the next best thing to having the key installed on your instrument.

Assembly Instructions

The extension is designed to fit a Loreé or Fox English horn. I've tested it on a range of Loreé English horns from the 1980's through to the 2020s. It would be possible to custom fit it to other instruments: please contact me to arrange this.
